The lawyers of the Appellate Practice Group represent their clients before state and federal appellate courts.  As appellate attorneys, we seek to correct errors of trial court judges and change the law by persuading appellate courts to overturn lower court decisions.  But, just as often, we are retained to convince the appellate courts that the trial court did not err and its decision should be upheld on appeal.  In addition to representing parties to an appeal, our clients frequently ask us to write amicus curiae briefs to inform the court in cases where our clients are not directly involved, but will be affected by the outcome of an appellate decision.  Our attorneys have successfully briefed and argued cases at all divisions of the Washington State Court of Appeals, the Washington State Supreme Court and the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals.
